Jon the Somm


on grew up in Alpine CA and left for the Army right after high school where he served with the 82nd airborne division. Being airborne infantry, he was deployed t, Haiti, Iraq, and Afghanistan. After serving for 5 years he left the military and helped his father start a winery in Murphys, California. This is where he fell in love with wine and found his passion. After two years of working in a vineyard and helping wi, the winemaking he moved back to his home town of San Diego. Jon signed on with Koi Zen in November of 2016 where he started studying to become a Sommelier. On March 15, 2019, Jon accomplished his goal and became a Certified Sommelier.
